Testing Policies

This section outlines the rules and expectations for test-takers during the NNAAP® examination in North Carolina. These policies are strictly enforced to maintain the integrity and security of the testing process.


Lateness 

  • Arrive 30 minutes before the scheduled start time.
  • If you are late or fail to bring required materials, you will not be allowed to test, and your fee will not be refunded.
  • Exception: If you are late for the written (or oral) examination but arrive on time for the skills evaluation (occurs on the same day at the same test site), then you will be allowed to take the skills evaluation.

Security and Cheating

If you give help or receive help from anyone during the examination,  the examination will be stopped. The incident will be reported to the NC DHHS for review, and your examination will not be scored. 

Note: All examination questions, each form of the examination, and all other examination materials are copyrighted by and the property of Credentia. Consequently, and distribution of the examination content or materials through any form of reproduction, or through oral or written communication, is strictly prohibited and punishable by law. 


Personal Belongings & Storage

  • No storage is available at the test site.
  • Do not bring personal belongings, as they are not permitted in the testing area.
  • Credentia is not responsible for lost or misplaced items.

Electronic Devices

  • Prohibited Items: Cell phones, beepers, smartwatches, electronic or recording devices.
  • These must be turned off and kept out of the exam room.

Study Aids and Materials

Items listed below are not allowed and will be collected and returned after the exam: 

  • Briefcases
  • Bags
  • Study materials
  • Books or papers

Eating, Drinking, and Smoking

  • These activities are not allowed during the examination.

Misconduct

  • Any form of disturbance or inappropriate behavior will result in dismissal.
  • The incident will be reported to the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services.
  • Disciplinary decisions are made by the agency.

Guests and Visitors

  • No guests, visitors, children, or pets are allowed during the examination.
