The National Nurse Aide Assessment Program (NNAAP®)
The NNAAP® examination is a nationally standardized testing program designed to assess whether a candidate possesses the minimum competency required to become a nurse aide.
- The program was developed by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing, Inc. (NCSBN) to meet the nurse aide evaluation standards mandated by both federal and state regulations.
- Credentia is the authorized administrator of the NNAAP® examination in North Carolina.
Examination Components
The NNAAP® consists of two parts:
- Written (or Oral) Examination
- Skills Evaluation
The purpose of the NNAAP® examination is to ensure that candidates understand and can safely perform the responsibilities of an entry-level nurse aide.
